How to heal codependency and the mother wound

Through compassion and grace

When we are hard on ourselves for our perceived flaws or mistakes, we perpetuate feelings of not being good enough. It is through showing ourselves compassion and accepting where we are in our journey that we actually create enough spaciousness to heal codependency and the mother wound within us.

I’ll be reading from my book “Healing the Mother Wound: With Mother Earth” today, and sharing from the section titled, “Destiny”.

I hope these words are like a salve to your soul, and that they remind you of who you truly are.

Destiny

This section is meant to show you what is and shall be. This is what is destined. We are part of the great web of creation. We are surrounded by our ancestors, our helping spirits and guides. They sit behind you, above you, below you, to your left and to your right. They sit with you, waiting for you to call upon them for love, support, and guidance.

They know the truth about who you are, and they are there with the exact salve for the part of you that forgets. Yes, we are human, and we might forget our truth from time to time. It is important to remember that forgetting does not define you or how far you have come.

Destiny is coming back to love.

Destiny is written in the stars for you.

Destiny is remembering that you are born of love and will inevitably return back to source as love.

You do not have to comprehend the words that follow with logic, but rather feel them with remembrance. These words are who you are.

-Excerpt from “Healing the Mother Wound: With Mother Earth”

Want to grab a copy of “Healing the Mother Wound”?

I self-published this book exactly one year ago. I still remember the day I had two boxes of physical hard copy books land at my front door. I was in shock, and doing my best to celebrate, but I didn’t really know how.

I flipped through the pages, felt her cover, smelled the paper, and filled up with gratitude. I remember thinking to myself, “She’s beautiful. She’s perfect.” I wanted to keep her and hold her so close to my heart, and I would be lying if I said I didn’t think, “Maybe this is just for me.” I know she belongs to the world, and not to me. And even though there is freedom and joy in that, there is simultaneously grief and sadness.

Sharing this book with the world is healing the mother wound within me. The part of me that needs to be needed and keeps the things I love close to me with a death grip. The part of me that finds herself holding back, isolating, making myself small. The part of me that fears taking her place in the world.

Healing the Mother Wound: with Mother Earth has taught me what it means to trust. She has shown me what it feels like to love, unconditionally. With every fear and doubt that comes up, she holds me without judgment.

I feel so grateful that this book has made its way into the hands of many to support you on your healing journey.

As a self-published author, there are a couple things you should know. I make $1 for books sales through Amazon, and I get 50% of book sales through BookBaby Bookstore, who I self-published through.

I share this to be transparent and open with you, and ask that if it is accessible to order through BookBaby, it is extremely supportive for me as a self-published author. Any contributions to my mission of putting out accessible content through my social media, Substack, and podcast is appreciated beyond words. None of this is possible without your support, so thank you so much for your generosity!
