This week on our 1:1 session episode, Codependency Alchemy member Rachael came to the call experiencing a pattern of needing to have everything figured out before taking action— something I know I certainly relate to.
I can’t be the only one that micromanages my life and Google’s everything, overriding my intuition and letting rigidity and over-planning take the lead! (Am I calling myself out too hard?!)
She shared that she felt a lot of pressure to gather all the information and details before making decisions, out of a fear of falling short of expectations, letting people down, and being seen as a fraud. After leading Rachael through shadow work and then an inner child healing she was able to see that this pattern stemmed from a younger part of herself that was afraid of being alone if she didn't have it all figured out.
"I guess didn't expect things to go where they did, and it was so important to trust the process and not question how old she was. Like, oh, she's supposed to be young. No, no, she's however old she is." - Rachael
Shadow Work prompts
The shadow work prompts we explored in this episode can help us connect to the root of what drives our need for control and having “it all figured out”. You can explore these prompts for yourself too:
"If I don't have it all figured out, then what will happen?"
If I fall short of expectations, then what will happen?
If I let everybody down, then what will happen?
If I’m seen as a fraud, then what will happen?
If I’m cast away, then what will happen?
Please share your reflections to this week’s shadow work prompts in our chat and get support and guidance from me and our community!
You asked for it, here it is…
I know how impactful one-on-one sessions can be. In fact, spoiler-alert, next week’s podcast episode is with someone who had a session with me and she’ll be sharing about the huge transformation and shifts that she has experienced in her life since our session (which actually happen in our Monthly Meetup call a YEAR ago!).
Psssst…. our Monthly Meetup call is actually tomorrow, you can scroll down and RSVP if you want to join!
I haven’t opened one-on-one sessions up to the public in a veryyyy long time, but it’s clear there is a huge need for it right now, as many of us are experiencing the HARDEST moments in our relationships— it kind of feels like a pressure cooker, doesn’t it? Let’s just say, in this session you’ll start to find the release valve.
Spots are limited so make sure to grab one before they run out!
